My photobook Resonance has been selected for the Photobook Exhibition of the Athens Photo Festival 2018.
The opening is on the 6th of June in the Benaki Museum in Athens
The Photobook Exhibition takes place from 6 June to 29 July 2018, at the Benaki Museum (Pireos St. Annexe).
The Athens Photo Festival is part of the European Month of Photography :
Already 19 photographers have joint this great initiative, to form a strong base to promote and sell their beautiful photobooks.
Self publishers united will take part in international photobook markets, to give the self-published books the audience they deserve.
The Unseen Book Market will our first public stage.

570 women photographers from 63 countries participated in the 11th edition of the Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers Award submitting 5732 images.

The Family of No Man is the culmination of an open call that has brought together 494 female and inter-gender artists from all around the world working in the medium of photography. The aim of this radical curatorial proposition is to revisit Edward Steichen’s original The Family of Man, a seminal photographic exhibition and publication from 1955, which in its time was described “as one of the most ambitious undertakings in an art museum”. Performing the patterns and production modes of the original project, which garnered both appraisal and controversy, The Family of No Man is conceived of as an open-ended physical and virtual platform of how the world today is seen through non-male eyes. The participants’ works are displayed in a series of interactive outdoor and indoor installations while new images, uploaded in real time to an online platform, will constantly update the selection during the Cosmos Arles Books week. This material in tandem with the visitors’ contributions will be deposited in a time capsule. Through its visual discourse, program of talks and parallel actions, The Family of No Man aspires to establish a critical space for an all-inclusive debate on gender equality, photography and its historiography.

In de tentoonstelling “… iets met ruimte” speelt de weergave van de ruimte en de verbeelding van ruimte een cruciale rol in alle werken. De uiterst verschillende denk-beelden van 15 fotografen komen op verrassende wijze samen in Kunsthal 45, ze vormen een eigen heelal.
De opvattingen over ruimte, ruimtelijkheid, ruimtegebruik, ruimtegebrek, ruimteafval, ruimtegevoel lopen zeer uiteen. Het kan gaan om een documentair beeld van een enkele kamer of om het oneindige universum in een abstract beeld. Men kan van een science-fiction avontuur buiten de dampkring, plotseling verzeild raken in een wereld die alleen als herinnering bestaat.
De samensteller van “…iets met ruimte” is Jan Theun van Rees. Al bijna tien jaar geeft hij workshops over ruimte aan de Fotoacademie in Amsterdam, die hij altijd introduceert als … iets met ruimte. De 15 fotografen die hij voor deze tentoonstelling heeft bijeen gebracht zijn allen oud-studenten, wiens werk hij vol interesse is blijven volgen.

Just found out that my work was awarded twice at the 4th Fine Art Photography Awards.
Nominee in the category Fine Art for Resonance#20160625 and Nominee in the category Abstract for the Series Resonance.
Aanstaande zondag is zover: de opening van de expositie …IETS MET RUIMTE in Kunsthal 45 om 16.00u.
De koffers met ‘licht’ waren zorgvuldig ingepakt, verscheept naar Den Helder en intussen weer uitgepakt. Benieuwd?
